BMW 2 SERIES

First launched in 2014, the BMW 2 Series is a separate branch of the BMW 1 Series, a 2 door coupe or convertible, and is a sub-compact executive vehicle with more doors.

Since its inception, the BMW 2 series has evolved. The original versions were not dissimilar to the BMW 1 series in aesthetics and performance. Later versions switched to front wheel drive and new body types were introduced – the Mini Hatch and the Gran Tourer.

Now in its second generation – ever since 2019 – the BMW 2 Series is an executive level front wheel drive vehicle powered by turbocharged straight-six engines.

USED BMW 2 SERIES

The BMW 2 Series makes the ideal used car for any individual or family. Second hand BMW 2 Series cars are available in a range of body types and engine sizes, making them suitable to various tastes and uses.

If your focus is on performance, the BMW 2 Series gives you plenty of that. Whichever car you choose gives you the horsepower and performers you expect from BMW. If you need a family car you can further benefit from a five or seven seater version.

When it comes to used BMW 2 series cars you can't make a bad choice. Even the oldest vehicles are only 7 years old and built to last. Buying a used BMW 2 Series means investing in a top range performance vehicle at a fantastic price.

A CHOICE OF TRIMS

The BMW 2 Series gives customers a choice of trims to match various sensibilities and performance expectations. Broadly, the vehicles have the same exterior, interior and safety features, but there are some key differences to set them apart.

Older versions of the BMW 2 Series will still be rear wheel drive, in contrast to those post 2017 models that switched to front wheel or all-wheel drive. You also have the choice of a more powerful six cylinder engine in some models.

If the interior is what you care about, later models of the BMW 2 Series offer some alterations. Illuminated vanity mirrors, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror, and satellite radio, feature more prominently in some models.

YOUR OPTIONS

The BMW 2 Series guarantees quality and performance whichever vehicle you choose. Typically you have the choice between the 2 Series Coupe, the 2 Series Convertible, and the 2 Series Gran Tourer. Availability varies with used cars.

The Gran Tourer model is a five door hatchback saloon car with 5 seats. The vehicle works well as an executive model or a high performance family vehicle you can rely on. It has a sibling model known as the Active Tourer.

The Active Tourer might offer you a more conventional family vehicle experience. It has a longer wheelbase, 7 seats, and more headroom. For more sporty or adventurous lifestyles pick the 2 Series Coupe or Convertible.

BMW 2 SERIES ENGINES

As with the trim variations the engine types and performance vary with different models. Choose between petrol and diesel engines, turbo or twin turbo, based on your price point and objectives. In general BMW 2 Series engines offer excellent acceleration longevity and overall performance.
